To the creative eye, any and everything can be a canvas. For South African designers / entrepreneurs Alison Stewart and Chelsey Wilson, that canvas is a pair of socks.
Wanting to inject some fun into a lacklustre sock market, the pair recognised a niche for beautiful, high quality, locally made socks. After showcasing (and going down a treat) as Emerging Creatives at the Design Indaba 2013, the FEAT Sock Co. brand has been going from strength to strength, selling both online and retailing throughout South Africa.
Keen to embed sustainability and purpose in their brand, Alison and Chelsey recently launched a ‘buy-one, give-two’ campaign in SA. Every pair of ‘Hello’ socks purchased resulted in FEAT providing two pairs of school socks for children in need on the Western Cape.
The design-led brand have already garnered attention from ELLE DECO, and look set to become a staple for turn-up fans the world over.
