Hackney People's Assembly

The People’s Assembly is a response to the Coalition’s austerity programme being mounted by key political activists like film director Ken Loach, writer Owen Jones, veteran politician Tony Benn, comedian Mark Steel and Green MP Caroline Lucas. Monday 16th September sees the launch of the Hackney People’s Assembly and an evening of conversation with local campaigners (listed below) fighting the Government’s austerity agenda.  The Hackney People’s Assembly is a platform for local people to discuss everything from cuts to local services to unaffordable housing.
